Over recent years the parish has lost its two shops and also its Post Office. The nearest Post Office is in Bawtry which is three miles by road from the village

The opening of the Cash & Carry within the old Crop Dryers site known as 'The Mill' has alleviated many of the shopping problems for families and the elderly. However, its main purpose is to sell post date 'best before use' labeled or 'partly damaged stock' at knock-down prices. While this brings to the village a great benefit in terms of cost it doesn't provide for everybody's needs. However around the Cash & Carry a number of other stalls and shops have opened including;
