The Parish Council either owns or has a direct responsibility for the land in its charge but on behalf of you the people of the parish. The council maintains strong links with the charities, clubs, groups and the primary school and other organisations and services within the parish. The Parish council is the primary link between the people of the parish and the various County and District Council departments and NGO's.

Only councillors may debate during council meetings but you may, before a meeting, wish to lobby your councillors with regard to an issue that is important to you. Prior to the formal meeting of the council parishioners will be given an opportunity to speak directly to the meeting.

The Parish council normally meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm. in the Peter Wild Room, Community Centre, Vicar Lane, Misson.

 MINUTES of the MEETING of MISSON PARISH COUNCIL

(1) Apologies for Absence. Cllr D Kershaw,  

Council noted resignation of Cllr S Medhurst.

(2) Declarations of Personal & Prejudicial Interests. None

(3) Minutes of Annual Council Meeting 4th July 2007. Council resolved to approve the minutes as true record.

(4) Matters Arising from Minutes of Last Meeting not on Agenda. In answer to a query from Councillors, Clerk informed council that the letter to J Mann MP (item 16a minutes 4 July 07) was pending due to pressure of work on Chairman & Clerk during July/August. Clerk to expedite.                                                                              Clerk

(5) Road Safety & Highways The Casualty Report - 2006

Council again expressed concern over the condition of Bawtry Road, Misson.

(6) Policing: Council noted:

a.      PCSO for Everton/Beckingham Beat Area Stephanie Jones.

b.      Correspondence re: Safer Neighbourhood Group.Meeting to be held at 7.00pm Tuesday 18th September 07 in the Recreation Room, The Green, Beckingham.

c.      Various press releases.

d.      Annual Policing Plan.

(7) Community Centre

a.      Proposed Leasing of Community Centre to Misson Community Association.

Council noted letter from solicitors. Clerk reported that additional information had been supplied that would hopefully progress the matter. Council asked the Clerk to contact solicitors and ask that this matter be expedited.                  Clerk

b.     Provision of Disabled Access and Unisex Disabled Toilets at Community Centre.

Council noted that the above works almost completed with the floor covering in the toilets to be done in the next few days.

Some additional expense had been incurred due to the drainage system being blocked, and also having front entrance door in dark brown as opposed to quoted white. This last item was at the request of Misson Community Association.

Council approved the above additional expense and asked that Clerk contact the architect to ascertain if the entrance threshold complied with part ‘M’ regulations and if a certificate could be obtained from Building Control.      Clerk

Administrative work re: the grants would be completed once the invoice is received and payment made.

c.      Items of Expenditure Authorised by the Clerk due to Health&Safety Considerations.

Council noted that the Head of Early Years & Childcare Services of Nottinghamshire Children and Young People’s Department had contacted the Clerk for information re: the Community Centre.

After discussing the matter with Chairman Cllr C Stringer and the Chairman of Misson Community Association and taking advice the Clerk had authorised the following works on Health & Safety grounds.

·        Electrical works as detailed in Periodic Inspection Report by M Shooter 15th June 07. Works carried out by M Shooter after quotation obtained in sum of £450/£500 + VAT plus two items to be carried out on day rates. One other quotation invited from A Beamish but he was unable to carry out work at this time.

Council approved the above expenditure.

·        Plaster work to the Peter Wilde meeting room and the Gents toilets.

Three quotations were invited, two received.

1.Martin Moulds in sum of £2000.

2.GFP construction in sum of £1450 + VAT.

GFP was therefore asked to carry out the work. The ceiling in the meeting room is to be skimmed once further works as below are completed.

Council approved the above expenditure.

·        Resurfacing of flat roof to front of building and repairs to a small area of roof to rear of building.

Unfortunately when the plaster - board was removed in the meeting room, the flat roofs above were found to be defective. A quotation was obtained from GFP which included providing additional timbers to provide an increased fall over the meeting room, fitting a high tensile glass fibre surface, and vapour control insulation layer. Also repairs to a small area above the kitchen.

The total for these works was £5395 .17 + VAT

Parts of these works have been completed with the remainder to be carried out during the October half term.

Council approved the above expenditure.

Council noted that Misson Community Association had agreed to make a grant to council in the region of £700/750 towards the above works.

Council thanked the clerk for his work on item 7c.

d.      Health & Safety Report & Fire Risk Assessment. The document had been circulated prior to the meeting.

After considering the matter council resolved to:

·        Obtain quotations for appropriate signage.

·        Write to Misson Community Association re: Fire Safety Arrangements.

·        Discuss the financing of new exit doors at meeting 3 October.         Clerk 

Council further resolved to contact Misson Pre School and Nottinghamshire County Councillor K Bullivant outlining the woks authorised to the Community Centre and asking if grants were available towards the costs of these or future works.       Clerk

(8) Parish Plan Council noted letter from Carola Jones of Nottinghamshire Rural Community Council.                                                                                                      Clerk

Mrs H Gledhill of PPAC had emailed to inform council that Bluecat, the NRCC design agency, had quoted for printing and that PPAC will accept. Photographs have been forwarded to Bluecat for inclusion in the plan. The aim is to launch at the end of October giving the council an opportunity to comment at meeting 3rd October 07.

Council asked Cllrs Hobson and Vallance to liase with Mrs Gledhil and approve the plan prior to full print and launch.                                                                                    Clerk

(9) Cemetery.

a.      Annual Inspection of Monuments in the Cemetery & the Churchyard.

Clerk had carried out the inspection 15th August 07 and all monuments appeared sound. It was noted the wall adjacent to the east gate to the Churchyard was in loose in one area. Cllr Vallance kindly offered to attend to this matter.

b. Painting of Iron Fencing at Cemetery.

Council noted correspondence from contractor asking if council wished the Iron Fence, which is awaiting erection, to be painted black or green at a cost of £300.00 + VAT.

Council resolved to have the fence painted black.                                        Clerk

Council noted that the contractors were asking for payment for the iron fence prior to erection. Council resolved that cheque would be sent upon receipt of confirmation that once the contractors received the cheque the fence would become council’s property.                                                                          Clerk

 (10) Accounts for 1st Quarter 2007/08                                                 

Clerk presented accounts for 1st Quarter 2007/2008 and council resolved to accept them.

(11) Financial Statement to 31st August 07.

Clerk presented financial statement to 31st August 07 and council resolved to accept it.

(12) Conclusion of Audit for Year to 31st March 2007.

Clerk reported that the audit for 2007 had been satisfactorily completed and the statutory notice had been posted on the notice board during August.

Location: Gibdyke Farm, Misson, Doncaster

Council objected to the application and commented that the proposed extension and porch were not in keeping with the character of this listed building. Council made further comments re: material to be used as window frames.                                 Clerk

(16) The Green. Council resolved,  “to exclude the public and press by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted” Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960.

Public Participation. Two residents voiced concerns re: planning applications 32/05/00014&32/05/00015L Location: The White Cottage, Church Street, Misson. Proposal: Erect Single Storey Extension to form Breakfast Room and Carry Out Minor Alterations. In particular that the application might lead to increased on street parking and restrict access to Riverside Cottage.

Council noted their comments.

 (4)   Matters Arising from Minutes of Last Meeting not on Agenda.

  (a) Grass Cutting at Cemetery. Council noted clerk’s letter to contractors.

  (b) Peacock Problem. Council noted that the RSPCA advise that residents experiencing problems should telephone the national RSPCA line. They will contact the local branch that will dispatch an officer to try to find the owners. If this proves impossible the peacocks will be rounded up and taken to RSPCA Bawtry.

 © Cemetery Bin. BDC advise that the cost of a wheelie bin at the cemetery would be £2.84 + VAT per week i.e. approximately £174 per annum. Council resolved to ask BDC to provide a wheelie bin at the above cost.                                        Clerk

(d) Clerk reported to Council re: Proposed Development: Extension to Existing Quarry for Extraction of Grey Sand & Incidental Reserves of Sand & Gravel, Creation of New Woodland & Restoration at Lower Level for Agricultural Use.

Location: Land Off Bawtry Road, South West of Misson.

Applicant: Misson Sand & Gravel Co ltd.

That following discussions with NCC and others the Clerk had made his report to the Chairman as instructed by Council.

After considering the matter the chairman had decided that it would be inappropriate to call an extraordinary meeting to discuss the matter further.

 (5) Police Matters

Bus Shelter High Street. Council noted e-mail from Cllr C Stringer to PC Gregson.

(5)Road Safety & Highways. Unauthorised Signs on Highway. Council noted copy letter from NCC Highways to the Proprietor, Angel Inn, Dame Lane, Misson.

 (6)   Community Centre Disabled Access. No further information available

 (7)   Village Survey. A discussion then took place on the size/format of the survey and Cllr Gledhill agreed to consider these matters further and bring any recommendations to the July meeting. Council estimated the cost of the survey to be £750. Clerk said that there were no monies put aside in this years budget for a survey, however council could resolve to use monies carried over from the last financial year for information dissemination. Clerk pointed out that Council had not yet formally resolved to carry out a village survey

 (a) Financial Statement, Council noted financial statement and Cllr Gledhill checked it.

 (b) Insurance Fidelity Guarantee. Chairman signed declaration as required by the insurance company.                                                                                                Clerk

Planning Applications: 32/05/00014&32/05/00015L Location: The White Cottage, Church Street, Misson. Proposal: Erect Single Storey Extension to form Breakfast Room and Carry Out Minor Alterations. Council had no objection to the applications but commented on the loss of garage space with no additional parking provision provided. Reason to avoid on street parking.

32/05/00017 Location: Orchard House, River Lane, Misson. Proposal Erect Rear Single Storey Lean to Kitchen Extension and Erect Chimney. Council had no objection to the application

Other Planning Matters: Council noted reply from NCC to there comments on replacement Nottinghamshire Minerals Local Plan Proposed Modifications.

(12) Contract of Employment & Job Description for the Clerk to the Council. 

Council resolved to provide the Clerk with a contract of employment based on the model provided by NALC. Council asked the Clerk to arrange that the amended document be available for signing at the July meeting.       Clerk

Fireproof Storage of Documents at Clerks Home: Council resolved to provide a fireproof cabinet and asked Clerk to source one

  • Council noted correspondence from Chief Superintendent RE Johnson re: Police Community Support Officers.

  • Council noted Crime Stats for March.
  • Chairman reported on an incident at the White Horse Hotel, Misson. He reported that police have charged a person for the offence.
  • Council noted police press releases.

 (6) Road Safety & Highways.

·        Council noted comments of Mr R Statham NCC Highways re: Speeding Traffic and damage to carriageway at Newington. He has inspected the carriageway and the verges but did not feel there was a problem. With regard to the request for a speed limit at Newington, NCC had looked in the past at introducing speed limits in villages countywide but due to the numbers involved a priority rating based on personal accidents was introduced. As Newington had no personal accidents recorded in the past three years it was not included in the initial phase.

·        Council noted correspondence from Mr R Statham NCC Highways in which he states that the cost of constructing a footway between Misson village and Newington would be approx £100k. Chevrons are to be placed at the end of Station Road, Misson and a sign near Newlands Farm, Misson Springs is to be re-fixed. He noted Councils comments about recent accidents.

·        Council noted correspondence from NCC Building Better Communities Programme 2005/06. re: Funding for a footpath/cycleway between Misson village and Newington. The request was not approved.

·        Council noted e-mail from Ward Cllr F Martin informing Council that the proposed removal of the BT telephone box at Newington has been cancelled for the time being.

·        Cllr H Gledhill reported that whilst walking footpath No.1 where it passes along the driveway to Mill House, she had been driven at aggressively. She further reported that a parishioner had been told not to walk the footpath. It was also reported that a section of the footpath had been ‘stepped’ making it difficult for anyone elderly or with an infirmity to use the footpath. Council agreed to pass the above comments on to NCC and BDC.                 Clerk

·        Chairman reported that following the granting of planning permission (32/02/00015) re: Willow Cottage, the footpath on High Street had not been made good. Council agreed to contact BDC Planning Dept.                       Clerk

 (12) Planning

Planning Decisions: 32/04/00020, 32/04/00019/R, 32/04/00017.Council noted all decisions granted permission.

Planning Applications: Proposed Development: Extension to Existing Quarry for Extraction of Grey Sand & Incidental Reserves of Sand & Gravel, Creation of New Woodland & Restoration at Lower Level for Agricultural Use.

Location: Land Off Bawtry Road, South West of Misson.

Applicant: Misson Sand & Gravel Co ltd.

Council resolved to object to the proposed development on the grounds of damage to the environment and wildlife, and on the grounds of damage to the carriageway to Bawtry Road and of the safety of residents walking or cycling along Bawtry Road and of the continuing problem of HGVs travelling through Newington.

Council noted that there was no safe alternative to travelling between Newington and Misson other than Bawtry Road.

Council agreed to add the comments that if NCC were, not withstanding Councils objection, mindful to grant the application then NCC should introduce a speed limit of 30 mph through Newington on the grounds of safety.

Council also commented that any permission should have a condition attached that a contribution should be made by the applicant towards the cost of a footpath on Bawtry Road and this should be at least sufficient to construct a footway along that part of Bawtry Road owned by the applicant, on the grounds of safety.            Clerk

Other Planning Matters

·        Council noted comments from BDC re: Proposed Development : Land Off Bawtry Road, South West of Misson by Misson Sand & Gravel Co ltd.

·        Council noted Replacement Nottinghamshire Minerals Local Plan Inspector’s Report. The inspector upheld the objection by Hanson Aggregates to that part of the plan referring to any further expansion of quarrying adjacent to Slaynes Lane, Misson and recommends that NCC amends the plan.

Council await the receipt of the new Minerals Plan which is due out in summer 2005 and will consider commenting on any amendments which NCC is mindful to include.

 (13) Contract of Employment & Job Description for the Clerk to the Council.

 (14) Any other Business. Cllr Smith reported that the felt roof on the bus shelter on High Street was damaged.                                                                                          Clerk

Cllr Gledhill reported on the proposed village survey. Council agreed to consider further at meeting 4th May  05.                                                                               Clerk

 (18) Council confirmed date of the Annual Village Meeting and the Annual Council    Meeting to be 4th May 05. Council agreed that there would be no meeting in August.

(5) Police Matters.   Council noted crimes figures for Feb 05.

After considering the figures Council agreed to write to the Chairman of the Police Committee with reference to their policy re: the following by up, by police officers, of reported acts of vandalism etc.                                                                             Clerk

Council noted e-mail from Ward Councillor F Martin re: alleged drug dealing Hagg/Slaynes Lane. Council noted that police are aware of this matter.

Council noted Bassetlaw Community Safety Partnership- Crime, Disorder & Drugs Audit 2005 Consultation Document.

 (6) Neighbourhood Watch Scheme Chairman reported on public meeting 23rd February 05 attended by Mr T Reynolds of Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Watch, 16 residents including Councillors, plus Ward Councillor F Martin and the Clerk.

Chairman stated that several residents had contacted him expressing an interest in the scheme. 

(7) Road Safety & Highways.

·        Clerk reported that he had contacted Mr Birt of NCC Highways re: the provision of a traffic monitor. Mr Birt is to expedite the matter.

·        Council noted e-mail from Ward Councillor F Martin reporting the issue of speeding through Newington and damage to the carriageway by heavy vehicles. Also copy letter from Ward Councillor F Martin to D Askwith, Senior Planner BDC. Council agreed to contact NCC Highway and NCC Councillor K Bullivant to press for a 30mph speed limit through Newington and ask again for repairs to carriageway.       Clerk                                                      

 (8) Community Centre Disabled Access Chairman reported on the inspection of the premises made by Cllr Clifton and himself. Chairman said that he would provide a specification for the ramp etc.

 (9) Council Website Council resolved to have a website and agreed to spend up to £200 on setting up. Council approved the content of the website and thanked the chairman for his work. Website is missonparish.net.

(10) Quality Council.  The Chairman outlined the benefits of having Quality Council status and the criteria needed to attain that status. It was noted that Council members had received the booklet “a guide to becoming a Quality Council” at the meeting Dec 04.

Council resolved to apply for Quality Council status at some future date. The earliest date for application would be after the council elections in 2006 when council hoped that sufficient people would stand for election to pass the first criteria.

Council asked that the Clerk enroll in a training course leading to AQA qualification and sanctioned the use £100 from the training budget. Council asked that the Clerk apply for any available grant towards the cost of the AQA course.

 (11) Misson Primary School Governorship. Council noted letter from Mr G Ingman outlining the new procedure for selecting governors and saying that although no vacancy was available at present, the governors would be pleased to consider an application from council for a future vacancy. Mr Ingman went on to invite councillors to visit the school. Council agreed to accept Mr Ingman’s proposals.      Clerk

 (12) Request for Play Area by Misson Pre-School. As the plans are still pending this item is to be put on future agenda. Misson Pre-School to advise.        Clerk

Council had no objection to the application.

  • 32/05/00005 Location: Mill House, Top Road, Misson, Doncaster

Proposal: Erect Orangery.

Council objected to the application on the grounds that the building was of such a size as to be out of keeping with the rest of the village. Council also commented regarding the route of footpath No 1 and questioned the future use of the building.   Clerk

Proposal: Retain change of use of Nursery/Arable Land to Parking Area & Construct New Access (Resubmission of PA 32/03/16)

Council had no objection to the application.

 (16) Contract of Employment & Job Description for the Clerk to the Council. 

Details of the NALC Model Contract had previously been circulated to members.

Chairman asked that this be an agenda item for April to give members more time to study the papers.                                                                                                      Clerk

 (17) Any other Business. The Vice Chairman asked that copies of the minutes be posted in the notice board on the Green in addition to the notice board at the Community Centre. The Clerk pointed out that there would be times when there would be insufficient available space to post notices that council was obliged by law to publicise. Chairman asked that this matter be put on the agenda for April. Clerk

 (4) Casual Vacancy. Council co-opted Mrs Heather Gledhill of Dunridge House, West Street, Misson to serve as a Council Member. Chairman welcomed Mrs Gledhill to the Council and she duly signed her acceptance of office.            Clerk

 (5) Matters Arising from Minutes of Last Meeting not on Agenda. None

 (6) Police Matters.   Council noted press release re: Mobile Rural Contact Point.     

Chairman reported dead swans, which appeared to have been shot. Council agreed to report the matter to the police and Notts Wildlife.                                               Clerk

 (7) Road Safety & Highways. As no further information available regarding the provision of a traffic monitor, Council asked the Clerk to contact NCC Highways and report to March meeting.                                                                                        Clerk

(8) Community Centre Disabled Access Clerk reported that he had met with BDC Building Inspector and there was no problem with removing the brick pillar between the doors in the entrance hallway of the building to enable disabled access.

Council agreed that the next step was to make a decision regarding the provision of disabled toilets. The Chairman and Cllr Clifton are to make an inspection of the premises and report any recommendations to Council at the March meeting.

 (9) Outhouse Roof at Community Centre

Council considered quotations from AK Roofing:

(a)   To remove tiles and replace with a felt roof - £454.72 inc. VAT.

(b)   To repair existing roof - £94.00 inc. VAT.

Council resolved to accept the quotation (a) in the sum of £454.72.       Clerk

NALC New Contract for Parish/Town Clerks, Council asked that this be a confidential item for March meeting and that details of the model contract be circulated to members prior to the meeting.                                             Clerk

Application for donation from Blue Ice Cheerleaders of Misson. Council agreed to make a donation of £50.00 and suggest that the group apply for a grant to Town Estate Charity.                                                                                       Clerk

Misson Community Centre – Outside Play Area. Council considered a request for the use of the outside grassed area to be used exclusively by Misson Pre-School.

Council had no objection in principle subject to seeing the Play Schools plans and they agreed to consider the mater further at the March meeting.                  Clerk

Planning Decisions: 32/04/00020. Council noted the application granted.

  • 32/04/00020 Location: Plot 3 Norwith Farm, Newington Road, Newington, Doncaster.

Proposal: Convert & Alter Existing Barn to Form Dwelling & Erect Garage Block.

Council made no objection to the application.

·        41/05/00001 Location: Three Electricity Poles, Land within the Parish of Misson & Scaftworth, Doncaster.

Proposal: Install Three Taller Poles (AT/Adjacent to Existing Positions) To Replace Existing Poles and Raise the Height of the Conductor Over the River Idle. Council made no objection to the application but made comments re: bird warning cones.

·        32/05/00001 Location: Glen Mount, Middle Street, Misson, Doncaster.

Proposal: Erect Two Floor Extension. Council made no objection to the application.

Other Planning Matters. Council noted “Planning Obligations: A Guide to Policy, Principles & Procedures in Bassetlaw”

 (13) Any other Business.

  • Council asked about the future for land, which Hanson Quarry Products are currently working on Bawtry Road. Clerk said that under the planning consent part of the land was to be returned to agricultural use and part would be landscaped to form ponds etc. These areas would not be open to the public.
  • Chairman reported on North East Forum. He said that BDC Planning Code of Conduct, which currently requires that District Councillors are not preset when Parish Councils discuss planning applications, was discussed. The Forum was advised that the Standards Board is not of this opinion.
  • Chairman said that a plaque for the cemetery seat, in the name of Mrs Smith was now in hand.
  • Chairman presented details of the proposed Misson parish Council Website and asked that members report back any amendments. It was agreed that costing for the proposed website be made available for the March meeting.

Public Participation. A member of the public asked if the land at Line Bank was to
be disposed of. Chairman replied that the Town Estate Charity whose trustee is the
Parish Council owned a parcel of land at Line Bank, however at this time the charity
had no information for the public.

Tunnel Tech liaison Meeting.
Chairman reported on meeting held 9th
December 04. He said that Tunnel Tech are now aware of the governments
new draft regulations and these regulations should give BDC more confidence
to tackle the issue. However he thought that a substantial reduction in the
odour problem was some way off. He pointed out that the draft regulations
say, "The smell should not be apparent beyond the site perimeter".

Proposed Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. Council agreed to hold a
public meeting in the Community Centre, Vicar Lane, Misson at 7.30pm on
Wednesday 23rd February 05 and to invite Mr. Terry Reynolds of Bassetlaw
Neighbourhood Watch to speak. Clerk

(5) Police Matters.

Council noted crime figures for November 04, Dec 04, & draft
Policing Plan and draft Strategy plan.

"- Council noted that the public telephone box on High Street had been vandalised
twice over the Christmas break. It was alleged that an adult had been purchasing
alcohol from the Cash & Carry at Misson Mill and then supplying youngsters with it,
and this had led to acts of vandalism in the village. Council agreed to report the
matter to the police and to contact the Cash & Carry at Misson Mill to ask for their
help. Clerk

(6) Road Safety & Highways.

Council to report following to NCC Highways.

Serious accident at junction of Top Road and Middle Street, Misson. Accident on Station Road Misson at first bend going out of the village towards Misson Springs. Chevrons to be requested.
Potholes in carriageway at Newington between Ship Inn and County boundary.
Need for Grit to be replenished in Misson Springs at Levels Lane corner adjacent to
Rocket Site.

(7) Community Centre

Disabled Access Council to ask Mrs. Edwards of BDC for Planning to provide the services of a structural engineer to give advice on the enlargement of interior doors. Clerk

(9) Budget.

Clerk presented working papers for the budget for financial year 2005/06. Council accepted .the figures as presented and after discussing the matter it was proposed that Council set a precept of £7194 for the financial year 2005/2006. This proposition was carried by a majority of 4 votes to 2 votes, with Councillors Smith and Sutherton voting against the proposition.
Council resolved to set a precept of £7194 for financial year 2005/06. Clerk

Possible Reinstatement of the Northern & North Eastern Association of Local
Councils (NALC) Area Committee. Minutes of meeting 30th September 04 Misson

2004/05 BDC. NALC Environmental Information Regs, NALC Freedom of Information
Act General Right of Access -January 2005.

Governors Misson Primary School, Council was disappointed to hear that a
Council nominee had been rejected. Council agreed to write expressing their
thoughts on the matter. Clerk

Planning Applications: Cllr J Butler left the meeting whilst application 32/04/00018 was dealt with.

32/04/00019 Location: Plot3 Land Adjacent to Misson Mill, Bawtry Road, Misson.
Proposal: Erect Detached Dwelling (Amendment to P .A. 32/04/05)

Council had no objections to the above two applications.

Council agreed to report the conditions of Bottle Bank etc at Misson Mill to BDC

Minutes of Annual Village Meeting held Wednesday 5th May 2004

 (4) Annual Report by Chairman The Chairman reported that:

In spite of the fact that the Concurrent Grant received from Bassetlaw DC had been cut by 20% Misson PC have not increased the precept levied on ratepayers for 2004/05.

Council continues to work with NCC Highways to improve signing and road safety within the Parish and that after pressure from Misson PC the extension of the footpath from Newington Hall to Hagg Lane has at last been completed.

Bridleway 4 has now been reinstated and our Paths Wardens report that it is a very pleasant addition to the path system within the parish.

A claim for a new footpath running along the bank of the River Idle has been forwarded to NCC for their consideration and Council await the outcome of the process.

Council thank Mr & Mrs Phil Wheeldon for their work with Bob Knowles of NCC.

Council continued to maintain the Green, the Cemetery and the Churchyard. Council have obtained a grant towards the cost of providing a replacement seat at the cemetery and this should be in place shortly.

The Green. Council have placed the legal problem of the boundary with its solicitor. He continues to advise Council on action to be taken.

Council will continue to inspect Memorials in the Churchyard and the Cemetery on an annual basis.

Council have worked with BDC to provide periodic Rubbish Skips for resident’s bulky waste items.

Council has represented residents at the Tunnel Tech Liaison meetings and have meet with Councillors and Environmental Officers from BDC to express their concerns over the continuing odour problem and further meetings will be arranged to press the Company and BDC to limit the odours.

Council has continued to lobby for additional policing in the Parish and we had a meeting with PC Gregson of Nottinghamshire Police to voice concerns on behalf of residents.

Council continues to comment to BDC on planning applications.

Council made representations to NCC Deposit Mineral Plan and Council have objected to a time extension on the ARC/Hanson quarry on Bawtry Road, Misson.

Council has continued to maintain the Community Centre and support the Community Association

 Chairman thanked Councillors and the Clerk for their work over the past year.

 (5) Items Raised by Residents of Misson       

Grass cutting of verge at Coronation Avenue and Green in front of Mill House.

Council expressed their dissatisfaction at the standard of grass cutting and agreed to contact contractor with their complaints.                                Clerk

Lighting on Coronation Avenue and Flooding.

Council agreed to contact NCC Highways and ask them to inspect these matters.                                                                                                Clerk
